For the last week and a half, we’ve had the honor of having one of our apps included in the MacUpdate Spring Bundle 2009. Multiplex has been selling along side other apps like Parallels, Tech Tools Pro, DVDRemaster Pro, RipIt, Moneywell, Posterino, and others.
As I wrote in a post on my personal blog, the entire experience has been a lot of fun and a great learning experience for the IndyHall Labs team. Nate, Misha, and Chad at MacUpdate have been great to work with, and we look forward to opportunities to do this again.
This afternoon, the bundle sales passed 34,000 sold. With a little over 3 days left, we’re making some of our own predictions on what mark we’ll hit when the timer says zero.
Want to get in on the fun?
We’ll do it “Price is Right” style: the closest guess without going over wins!
What do you win, you ask? Let’s call it the IndyHall Labs Lifetime License. In short, you win one free copy of every IndyHall Labs app. At this point, that’s Multiplex & Twistori Desktop but we’re FAR from done! We’ll even let you gift to a friend if you’ve already got a copy. Not only that, but you”l get a free copy of EVERY app we ever produce from now until the end of time!
We’re excited to announce one of our first major partnerships to bring you not just a great deal on some of our software, but on some great software from across the Mac software universe!
Thanks to the awesome folks at MacUpdate.com, we’re joining 10 other software developers in sharing an INCREDIBLE deal and bundling Multiplex alongside their apps, available to you for less than 10% of the normal price, but only for the next TWO WEEKS.
Well over $500 in software in total, for a short time, costs you only $49.99.
Why buy this bundle? We’ve thought of a couple of reasons for you:
1) To justify finally snagging a copy of Multiplex to manage your DVD collection: Your significant other put the kibosh on it before, but now you can use MoneyWell to show her how good you’ve been at saving money instead of splurging on pizza and video games.
2) Fresh gear for your Applications folder: This bundle is full of apps for all occasions! From OS Virtualization (need to test in IE6 or run QuickBooks for Windows?), to designing postcards and picture frames for your relatives, to having some hard drive diagnostics and repair software on hand for “uh oh” moments, to blowing off some steam (by killing space monsters)!
3) Gift season is coming up! Ok…so the holidays are still a few months off, but there’s nothing wrong with Christmas in May! Go ahead and give this bundle as a gift. We PROMISE you that the Mac Nerd you love will love you back….
So go ahead, act now (while supplies last), and help us spread the word about this great deal by sharing THIS LINK:
We thank you kindly, honestly, and deeply from our hearts for supporting our endeavors in bringing finely crafted Mac software to your desktop.
Team Multiplex: Dave, Jason, Johnny, Jason, and Alex
If you’re a Multiplex or Twistori Desktop user, it’s likely that you got a “Thanks for Buying” email that was exactly like the one you got when you bought one of our apps in the last 24 hours.
While upgrading Mr. E-Commerce last night, we accidentally re-sent every sales email. To be honest, it was a better mistake than accidentally deleting every sale!
We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope you continue enjoying our apps!
We’re excited that the entire Multiplex team, as well as a number of other IndyHall labs members and local cocoa developers will be flying together to represent the Philly Mac developer contingent! We’ll be in San Francisco from June 6 through June 13th, so be sure to look out for a bunch of peeps wearing t-shirts with IndyHall Labs product icons on the front. If you get us all standing side by side, we’ll look just like your dock!
If you grab us, we might even have a free copy of one of our products for you…so come say hi!
Multiplex is the longest-running IndyHall labs project, and in many ways was the inaugural project built under the latest iteration of IndyHall Labs as a concept.
The project began back in August of 2007, and at the time was named “Mezzanine”. Since then it’s gone though lots more than a name change. Lead developer David Martorana, along with Jason Allum, Johnny Bilotta, and Jason Tremblay have forged something incredible from this app. The team has broken down barriers both visually and technologically, and created something that we think is really exciting. We’re not the only ones who think so!! We’re excited to announce that just one month before the big Apple Developer Conference in San Francisco, we’re releasing Multiplex as a 1.0 featured product!
All of our 1.0 milestones have been achieved, and some extras have come in along the way.
For the next couple of weeks, we’re going to keep the introductory price of $24.99 as a courtesy to our beta testers and friends around the world. On May 15th, our normal sale price will begin, and Multiplex will sell for $35.
Go grab a copy today and start experiencing your movie collection in a whole new way!
This time, we’ve collaborated with Amy Hoy and Thomas Fuchs of Slash7 to release an OSX Desktop version of their very popular web site, Twistori.com. We’ve soft launched today, and will have more news coming soon!
Today, Multiplex found it’s way onto the Apple.com Download directory. Not only that, but it appeared in the “Staff Picks” listing! That makes not one, but TWO IndyHall Labs projects listed on Apple.com as Staff Picks: Multiplex and MultiFirefox. Maybe Apple has a thing for Apps with “Multi” in their name? We’ll keep that in mind for the future…
Bart, using a totally early alpha release version of Multiplex, already has video of it running on his TV! It’s like he read our minds. Multiplex is eventually going to end up on your TV - why else would we be writing it?
Expect it to look at least this cool, if not much, much cooler.
We hope you’ve been enjoying our demo reels, or as we’ve appropriately dubbed them for a movie-library app, our “trailers”. As we approach our final release, we’ve got at least one more trailer to put together, but this one’s going to need your help.
The Youtube clip above makes us happy, as do most movie voiceovers. Think what you’ve got what it takes to be a trailer voiceover actor? Then it’s time to get creative:
Record your best voiceover for our newest Multiplex trailer:
Here’s the base, with no audio, music or anything:
Download the m4v source for your own editing goodness.
Feel free to use the previous video as an example for featureset, We’re scoring on the basis of creative, amusing, and best voiceover voice.
Like to write but don’t have the voice? Got the voice but now creative juices? Find a partner and pair up!
The team’s favorite will be part of the final video, the voiceover credit will be shared in the video, and of course, you’ll get a free copy of the app when it launches. Maybe even a few copies for your friends.
Entries are due by Friday, November 7th, 2008!
Our second trailer. Private betas are going out soon, public betas are coming out by mid-November (probably much sooner!)
