For the last week and a half, we’ve had the honor of having one of our apps included in the MacUpdate Spring Bundle 2009. Multiplex has been selling along side other apps like Parallels, Tech Tools Pro, DVDRemaster Pro, RipIt, Moneywell, Posterino, and others.
As I wrote in a post on my personal blog, the entire experience has been a lot of fun and a great learning experience for the IndyHall Labs team. Nate, Misha, and Chad at MacUpdate have been great to work with, and we look forward to opportunities to do this again.
This afternoon, the bundle sales passed 34,000 sold. With a little over 3 days left, we’re making some of our own predictions on what mark we’ll hit when the timer says zero.
Want to get in on the fun?
We’ll do it “Price is Right” style: the closest guess without going over wins!
What do you win, you ask? Let’s call it the IndyHall Labs Lifetime License. In short, you win one free copy of every IndyHall Labs app. At this point, that’s Multiplex & Twistori Desktop but we’re FAR from done! We’ll even let you gift to a friend if you’ve already got a copy. Not only that, but you”l get a free copy of EVERY app we ever produce from now until the end of time!
We’re excited that the entire Multiplex team, as well as a number of other IndyHall labs members and local cocoa developers will be flying together to represent the Philly Mac developer contingent! We’ll be in San Francisco from June 6 through June 13th, so be sure to look out for a bunch of peeps wearing t-shirts with IndyHall Labs product icons on the front. If you get us all standing side by side, we’ll look just like your dock!
If you grab us, we might even have a free copy of one of our products for you…so come say hi!
Multiplex is the longest-running IndyHall labs project, and in many ways was the inaugural project built under the latest iteration of IndyHall Labs as a concept.
The project began back in August of 2007, and at the time was named “Mezzanine”. Since then it’s gone though lots more than a name change. Lead developer David Martorana, along with Jason Allum, Johnny Bilotta, and Jason Tremblay have forged something incredible from this app. The team has broken down barriers both visually and technologically, and created something that we think is really exciting. We’re not the only ones who think so!! We’re excited to announce that just one month before the big Apple Developer Conference in San Francisco, we’re releasing Multiplex as a 1.0 featured product!
All of our 1.0 milestones have been achieved, and some extras have come in along the way.
For the next couple of weeks, we’re going to keep the introductory price of $24.99 as a courtesy to our beta testers and friends around the world. On May 15th, our normal sale price will begin, and Multiplex will sell for $35.
Go grab a copy today and start experiencing your movie collection in a whole new way!
We hope you’ve been enjoying our demo reels, or as we’ve appropriately dubbed them for a movie-library app, our “trailers”. As we approach our final release, we’ve got at least one more trailer to put together, but this one’s going to need your help.
The Youtube clip above makes us happy, as do most movie voiceovers. Think what you’ve got what it takes to be a trailer voiceover actor? Then it’s time to get creative:
Record your best voiceover for our newest Multiplex trailer:
Here’s the base, with no audio, music or anything:
Download the m4v source for your own editing goodness.
Feel free to use the previous video as an example for featureset, We’re scoring on the basis of creative, amusing, and best voiceover voice.
Like to write but don’t have the voice? Got the voice but now creative juices? Find a partner and pair up!
The team’s favorite will be part of the final video, the voiceover credit will be shared in the video, and of course, you’ll get a free copy of the app when it launches. Maybe even a few copies for your friends.
Entries are due by Friday, November 7th, 2008!
It’s just days away…the first beta copies of Multiplex will find their way into the hands of some loving testers. Could you be one of them? This Wednesday, you’ll find out.
Leave a comment on this page, being sure to include an accurate email (we’re the only people who will see them). Tell us why you want to be a private beta tester, and we’ll add you to the list.
It also never hurts to follow our new twitter account for updates. We might just DM you fancy stuff.
P.S. if you’ve got a webcam, we REALLY like video comments.
Ok…that might be a little bit of a tease. We’re just days away from the first beta of Multiplex, but in the mean time, you can sport some of the application’s creative on your desktop in the form of a background, highlighting the dock icon and the Multiplex team.
And for those of you who are just starting to get excited about IndyHall Labs…Johnny whipped up a wallpaper for IndyHall Labs! Could we be seeing the return of Wallpaper Wednesdays soon?
Did we mention it’s called “Multiplex” yet? It is. But that’s not the hotness. The video below, showing the library and our insta-filtering, that’s the hotness. But it is just the tip of the iceberg. This thing has a rock-solid code base and the engine is all but a beautiful piece of art.
Just to make sure we’re sharing the “beauty”, however, we’re making the UI (User Interface) something to behold as well. Check out the video - it’s all real, live data, no fakery!
